Impact with the Canadiens

Hartland Molson and his brother Thomas bought the Montreal Canadiens in 1957, taking over an organization already loaded with talent and steering it to six Stanley Cups before passing ownership to the next generation of the Molson family — J. David Molson, William A. Molson and Peter Molson — in 1964. A decorated WWII veteran and Canadian senator, he brought the same steady, long-term stewardship to the Canadiens that the Molson name became known for across the decades that followed.
